All our tours start with a lesson for beginners and first-timers...All skill levels welcome!
No open-toe shoes or sandals - please ensure you wear closed, comfortable shoes
Photos allowed on the tour - unless otherwise specified
No food or water provided on the tour - clients may bring or purchase their own refreshments
Advised to bring water and sunscreen - especially during warmer months (SEP - MAR)
All children under 18 years old must be accompanied by at least one (1) adult for the whole tour

The tour starts and ends at the ground-breaking CURIOCITY Africa hostel in Maboneng – this building was once home to Pacific Press which printed press for Black Sash (an all-woman anti-apartheid movement) during apartheid!
The tour is a mixture of skateboarding and walking as we move around the Maboneng and Jewel City precincts while taking in all that urban life in the city has to offer!
From restaurants, to people, to skate spots, to street art, graffiti and rooftops…Maboneng and Jewel City are really the coolest places to be in the inner city.
Once done with the tour, you can finish off your experience with snack or drink on one of the available rooftops or the Hide-Out Bar at CURIOCITY…either way, we guarantee that you won’t regret it!
Established in 2013, CURIOCITY Africa is the first backpackers in inner city Johannesburg - with sites in DBN (TBC) and CPT, it's the perfect place to meet fellow travellers!
Street Art/Graffiti (Maboneng)
Maboneng and Jewel City both act as amazing outdoor gallery spaces by bringing art into the streets and allowing every person to enjoy and engage with it!

There is street parking available at the meeting point outside CURIOCITY Africa - car guards are available to look after your vehicle but done so at your own risk!
We encourage customers to use Ubers (and the M1/M2 highways) to and from this tour as street parking spots are not always guaranteed.
Yes, there is street parking available at the meeting point of the tour – however, it is used entirely at your own risk and we encourage you to rather use Ubers to and from the tour.
Yes, children (u18) are allowed on the tour BUT THEY MUST be accompanied by a parent/guardian/adult for the full duration of the tour!
Please make sure to let us know beforehand, if you plan on bringing children on the tour.
Although we skate on the roads and pavement while on tour, we exercise a very high level of caution to ensure the safety of all clients – please keep this in mind when thinking about bringing children (u18) on the tour.
You should bring closed, comfortable shoes for the tour as it will make it easier for you to balance on the skateboards.
In the warmer months of the year we recommend that you bring a cap, sunscreen and some water as it can get quite hot – during the colder months, bring warm clothing.
Although South Africa has pretty amazing weather for most of the year, the tour may be stopped or cancelled if it rains continuously – guests may choose to take the tour on another date or be partially refunded depending on when the tour is stopped or cancelled.
We encourage guests to check the weather conditions prior to coming on the tour.
